Skiing With Anti-fog Goggles No comments yet

Snowboard Goggles fog. It happens to everyone at some point. When ski goggles fog up, it can really put a damper on the day because it makes it hard to see. You constantly have to remove your goggles and wipe away condensation that has formed on the lens. You’re always wondering if by wiping away the dew you’re also scratching the delicate lens that you look through everyday from opening chair to closing chair. A lens scratch can be detrimental to your riding, but so can fog.

Common ski goggles problems, such as fog and scratches, can be dangerous. Anything that impairs your vision is not good. When you are skiing fast and in control it is essential that you can see where you are going, where other skiers are, what the snow conditions are like, where the next mogul is, where the chair lift loading zone is, and so on. Excessive fogging can leave you disoriented and lost and that’s no way to spend your day.

Nothing seems to fix fogging. You can go into the lodge to let your goggles dry out, which will give you a temporary fix. You can constantly stop and clean them, but that’s just annoying. Once fogging begins, it’s an endless cycle that can last a long time.

There are several theories on the causes of fogging. Maybe you put your ski goggles on your forehead in the gondola and your body heat melted the snow stuck there from your big fall last run? Maybe your goggles got wet in the car and you started your whole ski day with a foggy gaze? Maybe the foam ripped and the goggles filled with snow? Maybe your goggles don’t let air flow through? Maybe it’s snowing and very humid outside? Maybe you went inside quickly and didn’t take your goggles off? Maybe you breathed on your goggles to clean them? Maybe your goggles only have one pane as opposed to two? Maybe your goggles are just cursed? Maybe its a combination of all of these problems. Whatever the cause, when it happens there isn’t much you can do. And it can really ruin a perfectly good day of skiing, because you certainly can’t ride around the hill without goggles on your face.

Unless, your goggles are anti-fogging goggles. Anti-fogging Goggles are specially designed to reduce fogging problems. Through new goggle technology, like double paned lenses, anti-fog coating, better venting, more air flow, and overall design, fogging is much less of a problem. If you have a pair of anti-fog goggles, you won’t have to worry about fogging like your ski buddies do. You’ll be able to enjoy riding the chair lifts and skiing your favorite runs without fog interfering with your vision.

So next time your buddies have to go inside to fix their “fogging problem,” tell them you’ll meet them in a run or two. With anti-fog goggles, you’ll be able to spend as much time as possible enjoying your day outside.
